Fertility

Pre conception care

TCM can help you reach optimal health before trying to conceive. It ‘s advantageous for couples who have had difficulty conceiving and also those who want to address underlying health concerns, prior to conception.

Emma’s approach is comprehensive, with a combination of Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy and lifestyle recommendations, individualised to suit your needs. Emma also refers to GP’s for tests when needed to ensure a thorough diagnosis.

Treatment schedule: 8-12 treatments, usually 1 per week.

Fertility

Emma also provides treatment for male and female infertility, including assistance during IVF, IUI, ICSI and embryo transfer. Emma can work closely with your specialist during this process to ensure safe treatment and encourage optimal results, during what can be an emotional and uncertain time.

a) ART - This is ideal for people who are doing IVF, ICSI, IUI and want to prepare for an ART cycle and follow through during the medication phases with IVF. Acupuncture only is used during ART.

Treatment schedule: 8 – 12 treatments, usually 1 per week. Treatment is recommended before commencement of an ART cycle, and continues through out the cycle until the pregnancy test.
This includes treatment pre and post embryo transfer for IVF/ICSI cycles.
(See our Research/links section for details of research in this area)

Evidence based acupuncture only protocols are employed to compliment your IVF journey and reduce any side effects from medication, improve blood flow to the ovaries and endometrium, and reduce anxiety and stress.

b) Natural fertility – Suited to males and females who have been trying to conceive for longer than 6 months, or for those who have a known reason for sub fertility but are not yet ready to do ART. Conditions may include low sperm count, poor sperm morphology/motility, PCOS, endometriosis, endometrioma, fibroids, luteal phase defect.

Treatment schedule: 1 treatment per week. Time frames for treatment are dependant on individual presentations.
